5 Benefits of Virtual Challenges & Virtual Races

WOW! There are so many benefits to discuss in this blog, you are going to want to read the whole article! You may be reading this blog because you want to read about the benefits of virtual challenges & races. For those who do not know what a virtual challenge is.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL CHALLENGE

Virtual challenges are online fitness goals that require you to run, walk, swim or cycle etc a certain distance in a set timeframe.

Now, lets discuss the benefits!

5 BENEFITS OF VIRTUAL CHALLENGES & VIRTUAL RACES

1 ) You Can Race Wherever You Want

Sometimes you need to travel a distance in order to get to a race, which can be so inconvenient. You have to travel to wherever you need to go the day before to pick up your bib and then you need to be sure that you arrive at the race location early so that you are with your pace group. The best thing about virtual races is that you can race wherever you want! If you have a favorite running spot that gives you the energy to do your best, you can race there! You can even race on a treadmill if that is where you run the best. You have the freedom to run where you are most comfortable.

2) Encouraging Exercise

Benefit of virtual challenges is that they are incredibly motivating. Everyone knows that exercise is good for them, but that doesn’t mean everyone is active. Virtual challenges help make exercising less intimidating by breaking up achievable goals into chunks, with the promise of a prize. Knowing you are working towards a shiny medal encourages even the most reluctant to get moving.

3) Complete at Your Pace

As long as you achieve the distance for the challenge, it doesn’t matter how fast or slow you go. Account for your ability and set your pace to whatever works for you. Don’t push yourself too hard and risk injuring yourself, you have plenty of time to reach your goal.

Equally, set a tough target and you will feel more obliged to get out on days when you lack motivation.

4) You Still Get Some Fun Medals & Trophies When you complete a race, it feels so rewarding to get that medal to show off what you earned. There are so many colorful and creative medals that make the entire experience more fun. Many people choose to compete in a race simply because they like the look of the medal that they would win by competing in the race. When you receive that medal in your mailbox, you will still feel that pride from knowing that you were able to complete the race that you participated in.

5 )Involve Others

Virtual challenges are affordable and accessible to pretty much anyone, so why not get a friend to join you? Exercising with a friend can elevate a boring workout to a giggle filled catch up while you both rack up the miles. On tough days your friend can help motivate you to get out and active, especially if you are particularly competitive and want to beat their record times.
